Actress Hunter Schafer, famous for her role as Jules in the HBO series “Euphoria”, was arrested this Monday during an act in favor of Palestine. She and other members of the group Jewish Voice For Peace — Jewish Voice for Peace in Portuguese — were protesting at the headquarters of the Rockefeller Center complex in New York, in the United States.
The organization confirmed the actress’ arrest to the American website Vulture. “Hunter was arrested along with 50 others. We commend her commitment to Palestinian freedom and a future of justice for all,” a Jewish Voice For Peace representative said in a statement.
Protesters carried signs calling for a ceasefire and criticizing President Joe Biden’s stance in the USA. “Jews for Biden: Stop Arming Genocide,” one sign read.
Images of Schafer being arrested are circulating on Twitter. She has not yet commented on the matter.
In November, the actress went to the cinemas with “A Cantiga dos Pássaros e das Serpentes”, a derivative of the saga “Hunger Games”dystopian story full of political criticism.
