JERUSALEM – David Ben Gurion, founder and first premier of the State of Israel, had the dream of “making the desert bloom”. And it is precisely in its Negev desert, in the kibbutz Sde Boker where the statesman spent the last years of his life and was buried, that the Middle East is preparing for the blossoming of a new phase, embodied by a summit of foreign ministers of four Arab countries with their counterpart and landlord Yair Lapid and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
