Marit Bjørgen has the most podium places with 184, followed by Therese Johaug with 149. Heidi Weng is in third place and has 111 podium places so far in her career.
– What he does is absolutely enormous. He is only 27 years old and will probably go on for another ten years. Bjørgen should start looking over his shoulder, said expert commentator Niklas Dyrhaug in Viaplay about the milestone.
Klæbo has 76 victories in the World Cup. The protagonist himself was more measured after the triumph.
– Is that (100) today, yes? Big day, that. Nice that it was first place, said a satisfied Klæbo to Viaplay.
Erik Valnes made it to the final as lucky loser and took 3rd place in the final. Richard Jouve finished between the two Norwegians.
Klæbo went out in front and could seem to want a gap, but the field quickly came together again. On the run, he once again showed his strength.
All of the Norwegian cross-country men qualified for the quarter-finals.
From the quarter-finals, four Norwegians made it to the semi-finals, and all met in the same heat. From the Norwegian heat, Klæbo once again finished first, while French Richard Jouve followed Klæbo to the final.
Valnes, Even Northug and Mattis Stenshagen then followed in the following positions. Even Northug finished one hundredth behind Sweden’s Calle Halfvarsson and thus did not get the last place in the final heat.
Tuesday’s sprint was the cross-country national team’s last race in Canada and Canmore. Now the World Cup moves on to the USA and Minneapolis.
