Singer and actor Koji Yoshikawa (58) will appear on TV Asahi’s “Tetsuko’s Room” (Monday-Friday 1:00 p.m.), which will be broadcast on the 1st. In January of this year, he confessed for the first time that he had undergone surgery for “traumatic cataracts” and talked about his signature “cymbal kick” seal.
Yoshikawa first confessed that he was diagnosed with “traumatic cataract” and underwent surgery in January of this year. “Right now it’s looking good, but I’m here today at the stage where I think we might have to shut down the cymbal kick,” he said.
Yoshikawa performs a “cymbal kick” in which he kicks a cymbal suspended above his head with his right foot.
When Kuroyanagi asked him, “Why can’t I do that kind of exercise?” he answered, “I had an artificial crystalline lens inserted, but they say there’s a chance that it might come off. If that happens, it could lead to blindness. He explained that there is a possibility that such a thing could happen, and that he might be told to stop kicking the cymbal again.
“Basically, we’re doing concerts to sing, so that’s not the most important thing.I think we should think about something else,” he said positively.
Regarding how he started doing cymbal kicks, he said, “I was doing one-handed backflips when I debuted, but I ended up doing too many backflips with one hand and dislocating my shoulder, so I started doing cymbal kicks instead. “I’ve started doing it,” and “I should think about something else.”
