Marius Nilsen (Frp) nominates Elon Musk for the peace prize
Storting representative Marius Nilsen (Frp) has nominated Tesla CEO and X owner Elon Musk for the Nobel Peace Prize, he confirms to NRK.
It was Daily Mail who first mentioned the matter.
– The reason is his efforts and his fight for freedom of expression, says Nilsen to NRK.
Among other things, he highlights Musk’s work with the satellite company Starlink, which he believes contributes to connecting the world by providing internet access to less developed parts of the world.
– This means that they can gain more knowledge and competence, and an understanding of the rest of the world. And thus hopefully reduce future conflicts, he says.
About Musk being a controversial figure, Nilsen says:
– He is not flawless, definitely not. But I have chosen to look at what he does for the global community. What you think about Elon Musk will probably vary where you stand politically.
The nomination was submitted on 31 January.
