On March 28, 2024, Maserati will participate in the electric vehicle street race series “ABB FIA Formula E World Championship” to be held in Ariake, Tokyo (qualifying/final race: March 30), press Maserati MSG Racing driver press conference was held for the event.

The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship is a race series that takes place in urban areas around the world, and this season, the 10th season, will be held in Tokyo for the first time in Formula E history. A special course with a total length of 2.582 km will be set up to surround Tokyo Big Sight.

Maserati MSG Racing will become the first Italian car manufacturer to compete in Formula E in 2023. Last season, they finished 6th overall. He has been on the podium three times and won once. At the end of the fourth round of this season against Sao Paulo, ace driver Maximilian Günther was in 8th place in the rankings.

Günther, who is in his second year with Maserati MSG Racing, is a German national who was born in 1997. “I really like Japanese culture and lifestyle, as well as Japanese gourmet food. Gunter’s teammate Jehan Daruvala is an Indian national who was born in 1998. Reaching the final race is a realistic and achievable goal, and I hope the race goes smoothly. If we continue, I think both cars will definitely be able to achieve a top 10 finish.” He expressed his aspirations.

Maserati MSG Racing is headquartered in Monte Carlo, Monaco. The race, which takes place in various countries, is run by a staff of 30 people, with five staff permanently stationed at the Monaco headquarters.

The “Maserati Tipo Folgore” driven by Günter and Daruvala has a blue body color as an accent, with “Lame Folgore” (copper shine) reminiscent of Maserati’s electric model “Folgore.” Maserati aims to have 100% electric production models by 2030, and has positioned Formula E as an important racing activity.
