Millonarios was surprised this Friday by Águilas Doradas who ended the good streak of Alberto Gamero’s team. A great performance by José Contreras and a goal by José David Rivas were key to the victory of those led by Hernán Darío Gómez.

In the first part, Millonarios would be far superior to its rival in terms of options. The ambassador would have his first chance with Daniel Ruiz who invented a great individual play and took a shot directly into the hands of José Contreras.

A few moments later, Ruiz tried again from mid-range and this time he burned the hands of the rival goalkeeper who had to clear it as best he could.

At 14′, Yuber Quiñones almost scored the first with a great left-footed shot from without much of an angle, but Contreras was attentive to avoid the goal with a great hand to get the ball out.

Before half an hour, Águilas’ first chance in this game came with José Cuenú who, after a previous header, took a shot with his head that barely went over the home goal.

Towards 33′, Quiñones would have the clearest shot for Millonarios in a left-footed shot from a long distance that hit the crossbar of the Antioqueños’ goal hard.

Already in the second half, again Contreras would win another one-on-one against Quiñones who took another shot with his left foot and the goalkeeper once again saved in a great way.

Although he did not do much in the game, Águilas found the opening of the scoreboard with Jesús David Rivas who teamed up with Jhon Freddy Salazar who filtered a pass to his teammate and he won one-on-one against Diego Novoa to make it 0 -1 end.

Towards the end, Andrés Llinás almost found the tie against Millonarios in a cross that passed through the entire area and was left to the defender who finished off from the right, but Contreras, who was the figure of the game, avoided the goal.
