The wake will be open to the public, from 10 am to 5 pm, at Palácio Sônia Cabral, in the center of Vitória. Burial will be restricted to family members, in the Parque da Paz Cemetery.
Renato Casagrande, governor of Espírito Santo, mourned the death. “The great musician Alexandre Lima has rested. With his talent and charisma he took Espírito Santo culture to various stages in Brazil and the world. His trajectory inspires new generations. I leave my hug of comfort to his family and friends in this moment of farewell.”
Senator Fabiano Contarato also published a tribute. “Capixaba culture today says goodbye to a music icon. We lost singer and composer Alexandre Lima, who leaves behind his talent, the incredible mix of Congo with rock. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.”
Health problems
According to TV Gazeta, a Globo affiliate, Alexandre fell ill on November 29, 2013, during a work meeting. At the time, he was the Secretary of Culture of Vitória. He received first aid from the mayor at the time, Luciano Rezende, who is a doctor.
