Nationalist group demonstrates in Lisbon against immigration. Five weeks before the vote, a procession with torches and smoke bombs

About a hundred activists from a small nationalist group marched last night in the center of Lisbon, in a rare demonstration against immigration and the “Islamization of Europe”, five weeks before the legislative elections in which the far right could make a new step forward. Behind banners proclaiming “Portugal for the Portuguese” and “Stop Islam”, with torches and smoke bombs in hand, the militants marched through the trendy Chiado neighborhood under the gaze of tourists, guarded by a large police force who separated from passers-by.
