New Google Gemini AI feature: Users will be able to play music from various streaming services

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Gemini AI, an AI model made by Google, has become increasingly sophisticated in its capabilities since its global debut in December 2023.

Previously, Gemini AI was integrated into the Google Maps application on mobile phones. Now, Google Gemini is said to be eliminating limitations on the capabilities of this AI model.

Reported Android AuthorityMonday (22/4/2024), Google will add a new “Music” option on the AI model settings page.

It is stated that users can play music on their favorite streaming services, such as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and others. However, this option will not be active directly or ‘default’. So users have to activate it manually.

According to the report, the option to select this preferred music streaming service appears in the Gemini app settings menu on these Android devices only.

Unfortunately, when the user clicks it, they are only directed to a blank page. This means that the new Google Gemini feature is still under development.

Once fully integrated, it is likely that Google’s AI assistant can be used to play music from third-party applications, such as Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube Music.

Of course, the ability to play music from third-party applications can be an interesting feature, considering that Google Assistant has this ability.

Google launched a dedicated Gemini app for Android in February, replacing the virtual assistant on Android tablets and phones.

Although Gemini features generative AI features, such as image and text generation, text summarization, and more, this AI still lacks some Google Assistant functions.
