New local cases in Tianjin are Omi Keron mutant strains, and the whole city launches nucleic acid testing for all employees
CCTV News: Yesterday (January 8) at 24:00, the Tianjin CDC completed the whole genome sequencing of two new local cases of the new coronavirus. After analysis and comparison, and confirmed by the China Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the two local cases of the new crown virus belong to the Omi Keron mutant strain (BA.1 evolutionary branch), belong to the same transmission chain, and have been found in Tianjin. None of the Mikron mutants’ sequences can be confirmed as the same transmission chain. Last night, Tianjin City informed that as of 21:00 yesterday, the 18 cases of people infected with the new crown virus detected in close contacts have been transferred to designated hospitals for isolation and treatment. The infected people mainly involve the care institution where the case is located, school students and parents.
The reporter learned from the Tianjin Epidemic Prevention and Control Headquarters today (January 9) that from 7:00 today, nucleic acid testing for all employees will be carried out throughout the city. Those who have been vaccinated against the new coronavirus for no more than 48 hours will not participate in this full-time nucleic acid test after reporting to the community where they live.
