The latest statistics from Ningbo Customs show that in 2021, Ningbo’s total foreign trade import and export volume will reach 1.19 trillion yuan, an increase of 21.6% over the previous year, breaking the trillion yuan mark for the first time. Among them, exports were 762.43 billion yuan, an increase of 19%; imports were 430.18 billion yuan, an increase of 26.3%.

The EU, the US and ASEAN are Ningbo’s top three trading partners. In 2021, Ningbo’s imports and exports to the EU, the United States and ASEAN will be 212.77 billion yuan, 208.44 billion yuan and 124.89 billion yuan respectively, an increase of 24.5%, 20.1% and 15.5% respectively. The three together account for 45.8% of Ningbo’s total foreign trade value during the same period. In addition, Ningbo’s imports and exports to countries along the “Belt and Road” reached 330.42 billion yuan, an increase of 20.3%, accounting for 27.7% of Ningbo’s total import and export value during the same period.

According to statistics, in 2021, Ningbo’s private enterprises will achieve an import and export volume of 840 billion yuan, an increase of 20.1%, accounting for 70.4% of the city’s total import and export during the same period.
