GLASGOW – India has cast the last shadow over COP26, as it did at the beginning of this 26th UN Climate Conference. In those debut rounds, the premier Narendra Modi had frozen the enthusiasm by clarifying that his country would reach carbon neutrality (i.e. the balance between CO2 emitted and absorbed) in the distant 2070, ten years after the already lagging China and twenty years after 2050, a goal set by United States and Europe.
