The Coruche Bullring will host a morning Magpie Competition and a Bullfighting Festival on February 24th.

At 9 am there will be a Pega Competition in which 34 pitchfork groups perform – Santarém, Montemor, Évora, Vila Franca de Xira, Ribatejo, Moita, Tertúlia Tauromáquica do Montijo, Montijo, Ap. Barrete Verde de Alcochete, Tomar, São Manços , Azambuja, Coruche, Alcochete, Chamusca, Ap. da Moita, Safara, Cascais, Ap. Chamusca, Portalegre, Caldas da Rainha, Arronches, Alter do Chão, Monforte Académicos de Elvas, Redondo, Póvoa de S. Miguel, Coimbra, Monsaraz , Beja, CT Alenquerense, Arruda dos Vinhos, Cartaxo and Académicos de Coimbra. The groups will perform three types of catches (cage luck, face catch and withers catch), with the winner taking the catch at the Bullfighting Festival which takes place in the afternoon.

At 4:30 pm, the Bullfighting Festival will take place in favor of the Encostatamim de Coruche Association, in which the riders João Moura Caetano, João Ribeiro Telles, Francisco Palha, Miguel Moura, Mara Pimenta and Paco Velásquez will be in the square. Catch the Coruche Amateur Forcados Group and the Winner of the morning Catching Contest. Bull steers from Dr. António Silva, Vinhas, Cunhal Patrício, Passanha (2) and Irmãos Moura Caetano are handled.

Reservations begin on Monday, January 29th by calling 914 094 038, during weekdays from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, and the bullring ticket office will be open on February 22nd and 23rd from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm and on 24th from 8am.
