NEW YORK – Democrats cheered for Doug Mastriano and they were right: he won in the Republican primary for the nomination for governor of Pennsylvania. But considering the man pictured in the videos amid supporters besieging Congress on January 6, 2021, the easiest opponent to beat in November may seem like a risky prediction. On the one hand, Mastriano, 58, New Jersey-born, retired colonel, right-wing extremist, Pennsylvania state senator, ties to the conspiracy movement QAnon which supports the child trafficking theory and satanic rites of Democrats, may appear a folkloric character.
