San Jose requires city employees to be vaccinated or tested weekly | CCP virus | Wuhan pneumonia | COVID-19

[Epoch Times, August 06, 2021]On Thursday (August 5), the City of San Jose announced that from August 23, it will require city employees to be vaccinated against the Chinese Communist virus (Wuhan pneumonia, COVID-19) vaccine or weekly testing, offenders may face suspension of pay.

This regulation by the authorities will apply to thousands of city employees, including library employees, city hall employees, police departments, and fire departments.

City officials said that the new regulations will protect the health and safety of city employees and citizens due to the recent surge in cases of infection with the Delta variant virus and the number of hospitalized patients infected with the disease.

According to data from the Santa Clara County Health Department, there are currently an average of 242 new confirmed cases every day, which is a significant increase from the 47 cases in the same period last month. As of Thursday, 78.5% of the people in the county have been vaccinated.

George Han, deputy director of the Shengxian County Health Bureau, said: “In order to protect those who are not yet eligible for vaccination, including: children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems, we hope that everyone who is eligible for vaccination can get the vaccination.”

At present, San Francisco and San Francisco have announced that employees are required to be vaccinated or regularly tested, and Los Angeles and San Diego are also considering following up. The San Jose Unified School District (San Jose Unified School District) announced last week that it will require staff to be vaccinated or tested twice a week. This may be the first school district in the Bay Area to implement this rule.

According to the new regulations of the San Jose City Council, all city employees (including those working from home) must provide proof of vaccination before August 23. Those who have not been vaccinated or who refuse to provide proof of vaccination shall be tested every week and the test result shall be notified to the supervisor.

The city government will provide employees who need to be tested with up to one hour of paid time, but should not cause the employee to work overtime.

In addition, city officials are considering the implementation of the second phase of measures, that is, before the end of September, employees are required to be vaccinated, and regular testing is no longer allowed to replace vaccinations. The authorities are currently discussing this measure with the trade union and plan to publish relevant information in the next few weeks. ◇

Note: The new coronavirus is also called the Wuhan pneumonia virus. The Epoch Times believes that it is more accurate to call it “the Chinese Communist virus.” Because the virus came from China under the rule of the CCP, the CCP’s cover-up of the epidemic caused the virus to spread to the world and caused a global pandemic.
