The novel arrival of Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium this weekend for their match against Chelsea in the Premier League has received a lot of criticism, as fans have even described it as “shameful.”
The team led by Pep Guardiola, who drew 1-1 against the Blues, wanted the team to make a tremendous entrance in front of their people, who supported tirelessly despite the heavy rain that was falling, but apparently everything was very forced, as as the English media and fans point out.
For their presentation, the Spanish coach and the players were welcomed by the club’s music and by a voice that announced the names of the teams as they got off the bus, in the purest style of a theatrical show.
The announcer began by saying: ‘This is the moment everyone has been waiting for!’ He subsequently announced each City player one by one as they entered the stadium, as if he were a boxer walking down a hallway before entering the ring.
Due to the latter, Manchester City received several ridicule on social networks. “This is the worst thing I’ve ever seen in my life, so forced,” wrote one fan.
“The most embarrassing video to watch on a Sunday morning,” commented another user on his X account, formerly Twitter.
“What the hell did I just see?” one viewer asked, while another posted: “Is this funny? Please God, never let us become this.”
