Former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe collapsed to the ground during an election event in Nara, central Japan. The news was relaunched by the public network NHK, reporting that Abe was seen bleeding from the chest and that a sound compatible with that of a shot was heard. Police confirmed that it was gunshot wounds. A man was arrested.
The former premier, rescued, was taken to hospital. It seems that his conditions are very serious: from the first tests performed on the functionality of the heart and lungs “it would seem not to show vital signs”. The Japanese media reported this, citing local authorities.
