Super League red lantern, Stade Lausanne Ouchy defied the odds by winning 2-1 in Geneva. With this third match in a row without a victory in the championship, Servette FC misses another opportunity to take the lead in the championship.
Faced with the block put in place by SLO coach Ricardo Dionisio, the Genevans often seemed to be in trouble. Servette was punished on a counter-attack well led by Ismaël Gharbi who launched Alban Ajdini, who deceived Joël Mall to open the scoring in favor of SLO (27th).
The Servettians dominated the second half, but showed imprecision for a long time in the visitors’ area. It was finally Jérémy Guillemenot, who came on ten minutes earlier, who equalized with a nice cross shot (78th). But the SLO took advantage of another counterattack to create a surprise. Vitalie Damascan pulled off a remarkable number completed by a hook and a right shot which left Mall no chance (84th).
This victory allows SLO to move back to seven points behind Grasshopper, 11th, who faces YB on Thursday. The Bernese will, for their part, have the opportunity to distance themselves from the Garnet at the top of the championship.
