After success with Satan’s Servant and Women of Helldirector Joko Anwar is back with his latest film entitled Torment of the Grave. The film has officially premiered as of Thursday (11/4/2024).
As the title suggests, the plot of this religious-horror film departs from one of the dogmas of the Islamic religion, namely the torment in the grave that humans receive as retribution for wrongdoing while on earth.
However, is this true? This is what the main character in the film wants to prove Torment of the Grave.

Synopsis of the film Siksa Kubur
Referring trailer which was uploaded via the official Rapi Films YouTube channel, Torment of the Grave highlighting Sita’s (Faradina Mufti) doubts regarding religious truth. This skepticism arose after he experienced an extraordinary incident in the past.
Little Sita (Widuri Puteri) lives in harmony and happiness with her father (Fachri Albar), mother (Happy Salma), and her brother Adil (Muzakki Ramdhan). However, both of his parents became victims of a suicide bombing tragedy.
Since then, Sita has become distrustful of religion. He then spent his life since he was a teenager looking for the most sinful humans.
He did this solely to prove the truth of the religion itself. If religion were true, the most sinful of humans should receive the painful punishment of the grave. Sita thought.
His ambition to find the sinner bore fruit. Sita has found the body of the cruelest person ever known.
The woman then asked Adil (Reza Rahadian) for help to bury her with the person’s body. It seems reckless, but he did it to prove that the torment of the grave does not exist and religion is not real.
So, what will Sita experience while spending the night in the grave with the body of the most sinful human being? Will Sita face the torment of the grave that she has always doubted or will it be the opposite?
