The CCP bans Taiwan grouper Su Zhenchang: does not accept scientific evidence and does not comply with international norms | CCP | Taiwan | grouper | banned drugs | Taiwan pineapple |

[Voice of Hope, June 12, 2022](Comprehensive report by our reporter Fei Zhen)The Chinese authorities recently announced that the import of grouper from Taiwan will be banned from June 13 on the grounds that banned drugs were detected in the grouper imported from Taiwan. Taiwan’s Chief Executive Su Zhenchang said today (12th) that he has provided the relevant scientific evidence for testing pharmaceuticals to China (the Chinese Communist Party), but has not read it back. The practice is outrageous and unreasonable, and it also violates international trade practices.

It is not the first time that the CCP has unilaterally announced the suspension of imports of Taiwan’s agricultural and fishery products. On February 25 last year, the CCP authorities announced without warning that the import of Taiwan pineapples into China would be suspended from March on the grounds that there were three species of scale insects. Then, on September 19 last year, the importation of Taiwan’s Sakyamuni and Lianwu into the Chinese market was suspended again on the grounds that the pest scale insects were quarantined.

Regarding China’s suspension of the import of grouper from Taiwan, Executive President Su Zhenchang (former) said on the 12th that he could not read back the scientific evidence of the relevant test chemicals to China. This practice is not only outrageous, but also violates international trade practices. (Image source: Provided by Pingtung County Government)

Su Zhenchang was denounced in an interview with the media that the CCP authorities have always failed to abide by international norms, and often use politics to guide and control everything. He said that Taiwan’s agricultural products are famous in the world. Last year, it was unreasonable to suppress Taiwan’s Sakyamuni, pineapples, and lotus mists, and now they are coming to fishery products.

Su Zhenchang explained that the Chinese side said that the drug was detected, but the Taiwan side did not test it at all. The relevant scientific evidence was given to the CCP authorities, but they could not read it back.

Su Zhenchang said that he wants to cheer for the fishermen who raise grouper all over Taiwan. The Agriculture Committee has also announced that it will follow the instructions of President Tsai Ing-wen and take various corresponding measures. On the cold chain equipment, the production period and output of the entire fishery and agricultural products can be adjusted. More importantly, I hope that Taiwan’s agricultural products can be accepted internationally. In the past, those who were placed in the same basket over-reliance on China have been repeatedly subjected to political blackmail and blackmail by the CCP.

In more than a year, the CCP has unilaterally banned the import of Taiwan’s agricultural and fishery products three times. Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen also posted on Facebook on the 11th to criticize and express his stern condemnation. She said that the move by the Chinese (CCP) authorities will not help the normal trade exchanges between the two sides of the strait, and will unilaterally harm the relationship between the two sides of the strait. She emphasized that China (the CCP) banned the import of pineapples last year, and Taiwan has overcome the difficulties, and she believes that this time it will also be able to overcome the challenges.

According to Taiwan media reports, in response to the grouper import ban by China, Su Zhenchang started a trip to Pingtung early this morning. First, he went to the Ministry of Pingtung Hospital to encourage the hard-working front-line epidemic prevention personnel, and also went to Linbian Township. Inspect the farming and export of grouper, and discuss countermeasures with relevant units.
