Robert Geiss celebrates his 60th birthday on January 29th. In an interview with the news agency spot on news, the entrepreneur and head of the TV family “Die Geissens” (every Monday, 8:15 p.m. on RTL 2) reveals what he thinks about the round number and what he wants for his birthday and how he looks back on the past year of his life.

You will be 60 years old. What does the number do to you?

Robert Geiss: The number doesn’t bother me at all because I ignore it. I’m celebrating my 59 B birthday and probably 59 C next year. We’ll wait and see how that feels. Sure, there’s another year under our belt and there’s nothing we can do about it. But as long as you are healthy, feel fit and even younger than 60, everything is fine. In modern times, the 60 is more like the 40 or 50.

Where and how is it celebrated?

Geiss: We are very safe in Dubai. This is ideal at the end of January because the temperatures are like in summer in St. Tropez. Everything else, like Kitzbühel for example, might be too dingy, cold and rainy at that time. One option is to have a boat party on the Indigo Star. Or we rent a restaurant or have a party in the penthouse. We’ll come up with something, luckily we have enough options.

Are you good at giving gifts?

Geiss: You can give me anything as a gift. Carmen knows everything I could use. Of course, the gifts have to get bigger as you get older. Not bigger in terms of clothing, but maybe bigger in volume (laughs). There are a whole range of cars that are cool and come out new every year. Or there are watches that are beautiful, I am also a watch collector. The only thing I don’t collect is women (laughs). Maybe that’s why I’m doing so well, because I only have one woman by my side.

What do you want for the new year?

Geiss: It’s trite, but logically health is the most important thing, especially when you get to this age. When you’re 20 or 25, you can of course still wish for success in your professional life, but I don’t have to wish for that anymore. I have that anyway. So in this respect, health comes first.

If you look back at 2023. What were your highlights?

Geiss: The highlights were clearly the summer in St. Tropez again. We also had a great time at Formula 1 in Monaco and Abu Dhabi and on the farewell tour with the Indigo Star in the Mediterranean. In Forte dei Marmi we met a world star, Andrea Bocelli, and went to his beach club. Of course it was quite an event to meet such a person who is known worldwide.

“The Geissens” is currently in its 22nd season. What do you want for your show?

Geiss: We still have a lot up our sleeves for the show. Our construction site in St. Tropez will definitely keep us busy for the next one and a half or two years. There is also a new project in Dubai and we still have two or three other coals in the fire. It won’t be boring with us. If the audience still wants to see us, the “Geissens” will definitely continue for the next few years.
