Travis Japan’s new song “Sweetest Tune” has been selected as the insert song for TV Asahi’s Osidora Saturday “Tokyo Tower” (starting on the 20th, Saturday 11pm). Genta Matsuda, who is appearing in the same drama, made the announcement on his Instagram Live held on the 19th, his 25th birthday.
The work is based on the novel of the same name by Naoki Prize-winning author Kaori Ekuni. The story depicts the beautiful yet unforgivable love between Toru Kojima (King & Prince’s Ren Nagase), a 21-year-old young man, and Shishi Asano (Yuka Itaya), a married woman who is more than 20 years older than him. The film also depicts the dangerous relationship between Koji Ohara, a college student played by Matsuda, and Kimiko Kawano, a lonely housewife played by MEGUMI (42).
The song was written specifically for the drama, and has a floating, familiar melody, and lyrics that express the feeling of being attracted to people in everyday life, not just love, and will be used in various scenes in the drama. Release information will be announced at a later date.
Matsuda said, “I think the song will be played in various scenes, so I hope Travis Japan’s new song “Sweetest Tune” will become a part of everyone’s lives along with Tokyo Tower.I hope you enjoy both the drama and the insert song. I want it,” he commented.
