Thanks to this victory, Bayern Munich has 44 points and is closer to four points behind the leader Bayer Leverkusen (48), which is undefeated in this edition of the German league (15 wins, 3 draws).
Bayern had started the day seven points behind first place, so beating Unión Berlin (15th) seemed like an obligation.
A goal from the Portuguese Raphael Guerreiro in the 46th minute was what tipped the balance for the Munich side.
