Fiorentina defeated Atalanta this Wednesday 1-0 and started ahead in the dispute for a place in the final of the Italian Cup. The only goal of the match, which took place at the Artmeio Franchi stadium, was scored by Rolando Mandragora.

Now, Fiorentina has the advantage of a draw for the second duel of the semi-final, which will take place on April 24th, at Atalanta’s home, which they need to win anyway to advance to the final.

Both teams return to the field this Sunday for the Italian Championship. Fiorentina face Juventus, while Atalanta face Cagliari.

Playing at home, Fiorentina prevailed against Atalanta in the first half. The team created more and, in the 31st minute, opened the scoring with Mandragora. The midfielder hit a beautiful long-range shot, in the corner, and the ball hit the post before dying in the opponent’s net.

The home team maintained the result in the final 15 minutes and went into the break with a partial victory.

Fiorentina entered the second half looking for a second goal, but were unable to break through Atalanta’s defense once again. However, the visiting team was uninspired in attack and did not find the net against their opponent, and the duel ended in victory for the home team.
