Zero Point cycle breaking latest news: Shego + Trunk (2024)

The fourth and last day of this edition of the concert series Zero Point brought the duo with him Stem and the band Shego. The Madrid women offered their last concert in Bilbao on the tour of their latest album “Lucky Girl”.

The sober but fun performance of the brothers Fermí and Conxita managed to introduce the audience to their particular universe. A world of everyday life, almost absurd, that is enlivened with traditional dialogues from the twenty-first century. Naïve songs with traces of childish tenderness, that’s how it is and that’s how his repertoire was. “I Don’t Understand Anything”, “La La Land”, “Piropos” or “What Happened When You Left” were some of these creations. The burden of sonorous nakedness, which could only be sustained on Fermí’s guitar, could, at times, weigh them down and lead their performance to monotony. Something they tried to counteract with their spontaneity, freshness and verbiage between songs. They had some coordination errors when entering and exiting some compositions, but nothing that they could not solve naturally, making these situations their best virtue.

With an eye on the summer festivals, and on the recording of their next full-length, Shego They came to Bilbao to close a cycle in the best possible way. As they themselves commented, the physical distance with the audience was greater than they would have liked since it was an indoor concert, but even so, they tried to reduce it based on attitude and good songs that connected with that distant front line of the audience.

Maite, Raquel, Charlotte and Elena began with “Siendo Mala”, but not before drawing the curtain behind which they were waiting already prepared. They went from less to more, with a first part of calmer songs like “Sorry Ojitos” or “Me Perdonas?”. Little by little the guitars were positioning themselves as protagonists. “Oh Boi” and “Do you smoke?” They entered to link with that second part of a more intense and hurtful performance. Before, “Pablo” and “Qué Voy a Do” with Raquel playing Natalia Lacunza.

Once the languor phase was over and the acclimatization was already over, Shego began to move through the realms of punk, electronica and the most dynamic pop. We could opt for their interpretation of “I’m Horny” as a good summary of this. Duality of genres and emotions within the same piece of music, as in “Peggy Lee”. They took the opportunity to perform new things that will be on her next album. An energetic “Te Mataré” made clear the band’s intentions for their new LP, sharp lyrics and rhythms loaded with punk energy.

To conclude, first Maite and then the others came off the stage to join the audience in “Vicente Amor.” First, a respectful hallway was formed that was soon dismembered to receive the dances and pogos with Raquel and Charlotte. With Elena joining the party, one of the remixes of “Steak” put an end to the rave that closed the Shego concert, which now the public enjoyed without that happy fourth wall in between.
