ZTE Corporation released the “White Paper on Digital Infrastructure Technological Trends”. The document highlights the challenges and paths of technological innovation for the future development of digital infrastructures.

In line with its positioning as the “engine of the digital economy”, ZTE drafted this white paper based on its own research findings, both in basic and cutting-edge technologies, over the past few years and those of its partners.
The highlights
The white paper explains that digital infrastructure comprises three key technical elements: connectivity, computing power and intelligence. However, the development of these three elements faces challenges such as the Shannon limit, the slowdown of Moore’s law and insufficient understanding of theintelligence. To address these challenges, future technological innovations will need to focus on both exploring the potential of existing technology pathways and promoting collaboration of multiple technologies and optimizing system architectures.
In regards to connectivity, optimizing algorithms to approach the Shannon limit and expanding into new frequency bands while implementing a broad multiplexing space. Additionally, the integration of optical and electrical components will help meet the high-bandwidth, low-latency requirements of high-performance AI computing.
The increase in computing power is based not only on advances in chip technology but also on architectural innovations such as the integration of storage and calculus, systems peer-to-peer and the integration of computing and networking.
in the field ofintelligencethe development of more energy-efficient chips and the expansion of the application of large model algorithms are key to enabling higher levels of intelligenceespecially in areas such as autonomous networks.
The white paper concludes by noting that ZTE has introduced the “Digital Nebula” solution and platform, which enables different industries to have a digital infrastructure that combines connectivity, computing power and intelligence.
