Rome, 13 June 2022 – Mayors center-right in Genoa, Palermo and L’Aquila: the result of the municipal elections 2022 in the three regional capitalswhere it goes towards an election to the first round, with the first candidate exceeding the 50% threshold (40% in Sicily). Mayors elected in the first round

Messina – The civic candidate, also supported by the League, is moving towards the election in the first round, Federico Basile, considered the heir of Cateno De Luca, now a candidate for the presidency of the Sicilian Region. On the basis of partial ballot data Basile is at 47.7% (in Sicily 40% of the preferences are sufficient to be elected in the first round). The candidate of Forza Italia and the Brothers of Italy Maurizio Croce (center-right) and Franco De Domenico, candidate for mayor of the center-left are distant.

Palermo Roberto Lagalla of the center-right is elected in the first round: in fact he obtained over 40% of the votes, a threshold useful for avoiding the ballot according to Sicilian regional law. Beat Franco Miceli (center left).

Taranto – In Taranto we are heading towards the immediate victory of the center-left candidate Rinaldo Melucci, who is also outgoing mayor. Sources of the Democratic Party say this, according to which the main challenger, Walter Musillo of the center-right, would be at a large disadvantage.

Capital municipalities in the ballot

Alexandria – In the Piedmontese capital there is a challenge between the Gianfranco Cuttica of Rovigliascocenter-right candidate, e Giorgio Angelo Abonanteof the center left.

Municipalities still uncertain

With the counting operations still behind, the result of the vote in Asti, Cuneo, Como, Lodi, Monza, Belluno, Padua, Gorizia, Lucca, Pistoia, Frosinone, Rieti, Viterbo, Barletta, Oristano is still uncertain.
