The world of Ruché mourns its “godmother” Lidia Bianco. The mayor who is responsible for the strong commitment he has died at the age of 78 brought the wine to the recognition of the Doc: it was 1987 and then it was the smallest denomination in Italy. If the godfather was Don Giacomo Cauda, ​​the mayor laid the foundations for an international oenological success.

Bianco loved the Ruché as the most prized fruit of a land to which he was deeply linked. «Although he was teetotal, he saw in the Ruché a product with which to make our hills known: to bring tourists and create an economy. She is also responsible for the “Castagna d’or” award with which she managed to attract many famous people to the village “remembers her moved by the current mayor Francesco Marengo, who took the baton in 2002 after having been councilor.

A first citizen serving a community she has led for over 20 years. In 1978 the first election until 1995 and a new last position since 1997. Employed at the Agricultural Institute “Penna” in Asti, Lidia Bianco has always lived the administrative role with a spirit of service and authority, accompanied by a smile, the same one with which welcomed each of the more than 200 characters she has awarded in thirty years of “Castagna d’or”, a cultural prize she created in 1982 and which she defined “from deliberately silent prestigeWhose subtitle was “Voices for our land” since Bianco had set out “to gather the strongest and most illustrious voices around the desperate aphony of our countries, so that they would encourage a new path”.

The credit goes to Bianco for having brought people of national importance to Castagnole. To inaugurate the roll of honor was his friend Paolo Conte who, with the director Massimo Scaglione and the Turin-based publisher Daniela Piazza, allowed to invite Piero Angela, Giovanni Arpino, Roberto Bolle ( awarded first with the Hedgehog and then with the Chestnut), Giorgio Faletti, Enza Sampò, Luciana Littizzetto, Gad Lerner, Lorenzo Mondo, Piero Chiambretti, Arturo Brachetti, Bruno Lauzi, Nuto Revelli, Gianni Minà and Cristina Chiabotto.

Lidia Bianco had a personal passion for poetry which led her to «Maurizio Costanzo Show» where he presented his collection of aphorisms «Navel of the world». He leaves his sister Annamaria with whom he recently resided in Asti. Tomorrow at 7 pm the rosary and on Saturday at 10 am the last farewell in the parish church of Castagnole.
