The Financial Opinion Survey (EOF) highlighted the market’s perspective on the dollar in Colombia for this year’s behavior.
In the most recent Financial Opinion Survey (EOF) carried out by Fedesarrollo and the Colombian Stock Exchange (bvc), the perspective that the market has on the dollar in Colombia for this year’s behavior was highlighted.
There the entity indicated that by the end of the month of March the exchange rate will be located at levels between $3,900 and $3,941, with $3,920 as the average price.
It is worth noting that, so far this third month, the foreign currency has been fluctuating between $3,960 and $3,870.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Finance, Ricardo Bonilla, assured that this variation in the currency has led to a revaluation of the currency.
“The exchange rate has had an acceptable behavior, we would like it to remain around $4,000, there is a small revaluation that we have had it below $3,900 for several days, We will surely return to $4,000, in a short-term horizon,” Bonilla said.
What is expected of the dollar by the end of 2024?
Within the projections provided by these two entities, it was highlighted that, at the end of 2024, the currency may end up above $4,000.
Experts expect a rate of $4,050, which shows a decrease compared to the previous month’s forecast ($4,071).
Other projections, such as those from Bancolombia’s research team, predict that the dollar in Colombia could end up even lower.
With the above, Bancolombia projects that the low levels at the beginning of the year would allow an average of $4,017 during 2024.
And by 2025, the forecast establishes that this indicator may show more depreciation and will average $4,215.
