Liberty Completes Migration Process for Mobile Clients and Focuses on Operational Optimization

The telecommunications company, Liberty, announced this Tuesday that it has successfully completed the migration process for its mobile clients, while also working on optimizing operational processes.

Eduardo Díaz-Corona, senior vice president and general manager of Liberty, expressed gratitude to customers and employees for their support and trust throughout the migration process. He stated, “Now that we have completed the transfer of our mobile customers to our own systems, we are focusing on optimizing our platforms to provide the extraordinary mobile service experience that our customers expect from us.”

Díaz-Corona also mentioned that service representatives are assisting customers with any outstanding issues, particularly for Samsung phones, whether they involve equipment or software updates. The company is proactively reaching out to customers who require updates or equipment changes.

Since mid-2023, when Liberty began the data transfer and took over management of telecommunications services, the company faced criticism due to various issues affecting individual clients, businesses, and health professionals. As a result, Liberty lost 106,300 mobile subscribers and 11% of income from that segment, according to a report by parent company Liberty Latin America (LLA).

Despite these challenges, Liberty is working to enhance its roaming offering by expanding coverage and destinations worldwide, especially popular destinations for Puerto Rican travelers like the Dominican Republic. With Liberty’s International Passport, travelers can enjoy coverage in multiple international destinations for a flat rate of $10 per day with a maximum charge of $100 per billing cycle. Additional lines on the same account can be added for just $5 per day, up to a maximum of $50 per billing cycle.

Additionally, Liberty recently launched an improved version of MyLiberty, available as an app and website. With the new MyLiberty, customers can conveniently access their Liberty home and mobile service accounts in one place, allowing them to view subscribed services, check current balances, and more.
