Hunan Province Holds Conference on Large-Scale Equipment Updates and Consumer Goods Trade-In
The Hunan Daily News reported on April 4 that a video conference was held in Changsha on April 3 to discuss Hunan’s promotion of large-scale equipment updates and consumer goods trade-ins. The conference was attended by provincial leaders such as Mao Weiming, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor of the Province, as well as Zhang Yingchun, Jiang Difei, Zhou Haibing, Cao Zhiqiang, Guo Zhenggui, and provincial government secretary-general Qu Hai.
During the conference, Mao Weiming emphasized the importance of implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speeches and instructions during his inspection in Hunan. He highlighted the need to fully implement policy dividends, stimulate effective demand, and transform policy dividends into high-tech enterprises throughout the province.
Mao Weiming outlined key tasks in practical operational measures, focusing on the supply side, demand side, recycling side, and service side. He emphasized the importance of promoting advantageous industries and products, as well as implementing energy-saving and safety transformations. Additionally, he stressed the importance of improving municipal infrastructure and urban management levels, as well as constructing waste equipment recycling systems and comprehensive utilization bases.
Mao Weiming called for the joint efforts of multiple parties to strengthen the implementation of responsibilities and establish a mechanism to accelerate economic transformation and upgrading. He emphasized the importance of compaction of responsibilities at different levels to establish a mechanism that makes it easier to replace old equipment with new ones.
Overall, the conference highlighted the province’s commitment to promoting large-scale equipment updates and consumer goods trade-ins as a strategy to stimulate effective demand, promote green and safe development, and create better living conditions for the people of Hunan.
