In Morocco, the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development plans to launch a new strategy to modernize the mining sector, Africa24 reports.
This initiative has five main objectives, including the modernization and competitiveness of the non-phosphate mining sector, improving investment attractiveness and increasing the valorisation and transformation of resources on an industrial scale.
To achieve these objectives, the ministry is evaluating an action plan structured around five axes and six levers. This strategy includes in particular institutional restructuring, legislative and regulatory reform, as well as the promotion of industrial valorization and transformation of mineral resources. Emphasis will also be placed on improving the investment attractiveness, territorial development and social impact of the mining sector.
