In an increasingly competitive market context, with the entry of new players, Stellantis recorded sales growth of 5.9% in Europe in 2023 in all segments and for all propulsions, finishing the year in second place in sales on the European market, with a market share of 18.4% on an annual basis (a year ago it was 18.6%, at the end of 2022 it was just above 20 percent). The commercial vehicle segment records a market share consistently above 30%, with the Stellantis Pro One business unit leading the sector. In the main European markets, sales are growing compared to the previous year: +10.6% in Italy, +2.2% in France, +5% in Germany, +3.5% in Spain and +16.8% in the United Kingdom. The results were also positive in the rest of Europe, with significant growth also in Belux, Ireland, Portugal and Switzerland. Overall, France, Italy and Portugal lead in overall sales, while France, Portugal and Spain lead in sales in the electrified market.

In the battery-powered vehicle (BEV) market, where it competes with models such as the Fiat 500e, Opel Corsa electric, Jeep Avenger and Peugeot e-208 (and the 3008 produced on the Stla medium platform is on the way), Stellantis is growing rapidly, with a 14% increase compared to 2022 and a 14.2% market share in Europe, leading in various Bev segments. «Looking at the extraordinary year just concluded, the sales results for 2023 confirm us as the fiercest competitor for the conquest of the top step of the podium», commented Uwe Hochgeschurtz, chief operating officer of Stellantis for wider Europe, underlining that «by ensuring leadership in the BEV market we are not just limiting ourselves to dictating the pace, but we are setting the standards to beat».

The overall results indicate a positive transition from 2023 to the new year, mirroring the general trend in major European countries. As a leading automotive manufacturer in France, Stellantis excels in the electrified vehicle market, reaching an important share of 27.4%, significantly growing compared to 2022 and surpassing its main competitor in the BEV market by 4 points. In Italy, Stellantis emerged as the overall market leader, ending 2023 with a 45.5% share of the commercial vehicle sector.

The fourth largest car manufacturer is strengthening its leadership in the energy transition: one in four electrified vehicles and half of electric commercial vehicles are Stellantis branded. Positive results also come from Germany, where Stellantis has consolidated its position as the second largest automotive company. The Opel Corsa continues to be the best-selling vehicle in the B-segment for the third consecutive year, reaching the highest level of registrations since 2016. Furthermore, Stellantis leads the commercial vehicle market for the fourth consecutive month.

Last January 3rd Stellantis communicated sales data in a very important market, the United States. The maker of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram reported a 1% sales decline in 2023.
