The second domestically produced large cruise ship is set to be delivered before the end of the year, according to Hangzhou Net. Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, has confirmed the construction timeline for the new cruise ship.
The ship, which is based on the first domestically produced large cruise ship “Aida·Modu”, will have a total tonnage of approximately 142,000 tons, an overall length of 341 meters, a width of 37.2 meters, and a maximum speed of 22.7 knots. It will have 2,144 guest rooms, an increase of 10,000 tons and 19 guest rooms compared to the “Aida·Modu”.
The detailed design drawings, production design modeling, and model balancing work have been completed, with a focus on special balancing work such as outfitting installation sequence and kitchen and laundry flues. The ship is equipped with a 16-floor superstructure living and entertainment area to meet the needs of passengers.
The construction of the second domestically produced large cruise ship is on track, with plans for it to be named and delivered before the end of 2026. This will mark another milestone in China’s efforts to expand its cruise shipbuilding capabilities.
