39th Shanghai Spring International Music Festival: Celebrating a New Era of Music

The 39th Shanghai Spring International Music Festival kicked off with grandeur at the Shanghai Symphony Hall with the theme “Pujiang Spring Tide·Starting a New Journey”. The festival, which is the first large-scale cultural event in Shanghai this year, promises to be a celebration of music and talent.

The opening ceremony featured performances of iconic songs like “Ode to the Red Flag”, “The Sun Shines on Tashkorgan” and “The Bright Red Sun”. The festival aims to showcase 66 performances under the theme “Praise for the New Era”.

Since its inception, the Shanghai Spring music festival has been dedicated to promoting new talents in the music industry. Many notable works and talents have emerged from the festival, including classics like “Ode to the Red Flag” and “Butterfly Lovers” which have gained popularity not only in China but around the world.

The opening performance of the festival showcased three rising stars in the music scene as soloists and soloists. With over 350 members in the band and chorus, including the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra, Shanghai Opera House Chorus, Shanghai Conservatory of Music Music Education Department Mixed Choir, China Welfare Society Children’s Palace Little Friends Art Troupe, and conductor Yu Feng leading the performance, the scale of the event set a new record for “Shanghai Spring”.

Attendees and music enthusiasts can look forward to a series of captivating performances and an extraordinary display of musical talent throughout the duration of the Shanghai Spring International Music Festival.
