Judge Roberto Gaviña admitted the charges that Choele Choel prosecutor Analía Álvarez brought against a young man suspected of possession and distribution of images of child sexual abuse.

The prosecutor explained that the case began with the intervention of the Telecommunications Investigation Office (Oitel) of the Public Ministry, “that received a report reporting traffic of this type of images on a certain IP.”
He attributed three acts to the accused. The first located on November 18, 2022 in a town in Valle Medio, “through a cell phone, which was kidnapped within the framework of the tax investigation.” According to the prosecutor, The suspect “would have published and disseminated videos containing child sexual abuse.”
The second occurred between December 29 and March 8, 2023, “on those occasions the accused, with the same device but with another SIM, would have exchanged” videos with images of child sexual abuse.
The prosecutor indicated that the third occurred between “November 9, 2022 and March 19, 2023, when the accused would have used the same cell phone but with a different subscriber number than the previous ones, in this way “he would have had in his possession and for unequivocal distribution purposes files containing child sexual abuse content.”

He recalled that personnel from the Criminalistics Office intervened and took photographs and prepared the necessary records.

Álvarez classified the first two events attributed to the accused as publication and dissemination of images containing child sexual abuse, distribution of images of child sexual abuse content in three events, which compete in a real way with each other. While The third framed it as “possession of images of child sexual abuse for unequivocal distribution purposes, all in real competition.”
The official defender Josefina Santos assisted the accused at the hearing and did not raise questions about the charges made. and requested four months to carry out his own investigation as the prosecutor’s office had requested.
From the Public Ministry they explained that the judge did not impose precautionary measures on the accused, whose identity was kept confidential because the process had just begun. because the suspect remained lawful and collaborated with the measures. He also did not change his address and did not oppose the searches at his home.
