Actress Ashley Park Shares Harrowing Medical Scare and Gratitude for Support

“Emily in Paris” actress Ashley Park opens up about serious medical scare over the holidays

Ashley Park, known for her role as Mindy in the Netflix series “Emily in Paris,” recently shared a harrowing experience with her fans on Instagram. The 32-year-old actress revealed that what started as tonsillitis over the holidays turned into a serious medical scare that led to septic shock and affected several of her organs.

In a heartfelt post on her verified Instagram account, Park expressed gratitude for her health improving despite the severity of the situation. She also thanked her “Emily in Paris” co-star and partner Paul Forman for staying by her side unconditionally throughout the health crisis. She shared photos and videos, showing Forman supporting her during the hospitalization and treatment process.

Amid the health scare, Park also highlighted the immediate assistance provided by Joali Being, a wellness island in the Maldives, for their rapid response and support during the critical time.

Park’s experience sheds light on the seriousness of sepsis, with septic shock being the most critical phase. According to the Cleveland Clinic, sepsis can cause organs to stop functioning, leading to a life-threatening condition. The Lancet magazine has reported that sepsis was responsible for 1 in 5 deaths worldwide in 2020, highlighting the urgency of immediate treatment for both sepsis and septic shock.

Despite the challenging ordeal, Park’s focus on gratitude and her acknowledgment of the support she received from her loved ones and medical professionals is an inspiring message. As she continues to recuperate, fans and well-wishers are sending their thoughts and best wishes for her full recovery.
