Another acquisition for Brunello Cucinelli, which thus expands the manufacturing network to support the company’s growth: the subject of the operation is the Sartoria Eugubina in Gubbio, about 60 km from the manufacturing village of Solomeo. The reality includes around 70 top-level workers, specialized in outerwear, who will continue their sartorial art in continuity with what Brunello Cucinelli has started in Penne, where in 2025 the new 4500 m2 factory dedicated to men’s fashion will be built which, when fully operational, will I employ around 350 people. In the meantime, the tailoring activities continue in a rented structure of approximately 2 thousand m2.

«That of the small but important “Sartoria Eugubina” is a noble story, made up of genuine craftsmanship that has been able to earn a well-deserved esteem – commented Brunello Cucinelli -. I like to remember the precious work of those who have looked after it until today and we are very happy with this acquisition, which for us is a truly special enrichment in terms of Human Resources. The whole world looks at our Italy with profound esteem and we believe that our artefacts tell in a sincere and very special way what our way of working is, the extreme care we put in valorising the skilled hands of our esteemed artisans. Now also in Gubbio we will build a small factory with a splendid view of the panorama of the medieval citadel, where it is possible to work in harmony with Creation. I am very confident in the value of beautiful and well-made garments made in Italy that can be left as a legacy. Perhaps in times to come the theme will be: not to whom we will sell these special garments, but rather which skilled hands will create these little masterpieces.”

The history of Sartoria Eugubina deserves to be remembered, since in 2015 the approximately 30 seamstresses employed at the time saved their company, then called Srap, from the risk of closure, using approximately 100 thousand euros from their own pockets and also supported financially by the institutions. Entrepreneur Rudy Severini then arrived at the helm of the tailoring business and as a partner and Brunello Cucinelli personally attended the inauguration of the new company in December nine years ago. A successful relaunch formula, given that in this period the workforce has more than doubled, also thanks to the strengthening of “tailor-made” production.

Last week the Umbrian brand presented the first eyewear collection created with EssiLux in Rome, the result of the ten-year licensing agreement signed in November 2022.
