The inspiration for the design of the 109m² apartment, in Ipiranga, São Paulo, where architect Bruno Moraes lives with his wife, was to revitalize the space, bringing vibrant colors and a Brazilian touch. Maintaining some characteristics of the architect’s style, such as metallic structures and exposed concrete, the objective was to create a more lively and welcoming environment.

The apartment’s rooms include a variety of carefully personalized spaces. Coverings, furniture and objects were selected by the couple, who lived intensely each stage of the renovation. The result is a welcoming and authentic home, reflecting the couple’s passion for Brazilianness.

Areas specially designed to welcome friends and family stand out, as well as a kitchen designed for couples who love cooking. The project also includes a space dedicated to music, where Bruno can play his instruments. The apartment is adorned with objects that tell the couple’s story, including travel souvenirs, items from the architect’s previous exhibitions and family heirlooms.

Several architectural changes were made, such as the elimination of a bedroom to expand the social area, moving the power panel to the kitchen, redesigning the bathrooms and toilets, expanding the kitchen and reducing the service area.

In addition, there were changes to the structure of the master suite’s closet, and the inclusion of a towel heating system and mirror defogger in the bathrooms. A suction system was also added for the gas heater in the kitchen for safety reasons.

We moved the wall that divided the master suite, invading the living room, and with that we managed to more than double the number of cabinets in the closet.
