Director Wei Desheng’s Latest Film “BIG” Receives Enthusiastic Response at Nanwan Overseas Chinese Education Center

On April 14, 2024, director Wei Desheng premiered his latest masterpiece “BIG” at the Nanwan Overseas Chinese Education Center to an audience of nearly 500 viewers. The film, which explores the pain and joy of six families of children facing cancer, received a warm reception with laughter and tears filling the venue.

Wei Desheng shared that the inspiration for “BIG” came from a female college student he met over 20 years ago who battled bone cancer as a child. Her positive attitude towards life despite her struggles in the cancer ward left a lasting impact on the director, shaping the themes of perseverance and hope in the film.

Before the screening, the audience at the Nanwan Overseas Chinese Education Center enjoyed a variety of Taiwanese delicacies such as milk tea, sugar cane juice, and tea eggs.
