Fragrances, a scholarship in memory of Giorgia Martone

Accademia del Profumo, for over 30 years engaged in the dissemination of olfactory culture, recalls Giorgia Martone, a talented and eclectic entrepreneur in the world of perfumery, who died prematurely last January, with a scholarship and work, to be assigned to a particularly young student motivated and oriented to enter the perfume industry.

The scholarship, worth 10 thousand euros gross, provides for the financing of a course, lasting about six months, consisting of a theoretical part, consisting of the Professione Olfatto training course, by Mouillettes & Co, followed by a internship period in different realities of the perfumery supply chain: an essence house, a product development and marketing company and a production site for raw materials.

The call will be published on 1 December 2021 and applications will be open from 1 January to 28 February 2022, to all students who have achieved or are finishing a master, a specialization degree or a specialization course in one of the universities or institutes in the cosmetics, fashion and design sectors identified by the Accademia del Profumo.

The choice of the beneficiary of the scholarship will take place through two stages: a pre-selection by a technical committee, which will choose a shortlist of 15 names, among all the candidates; the identification of the winner among the 15 preselected by the technical jury, through individual interviews. The committee and the jury will both be composed of professionals and experts from the perfumery sector. The outcome of the selection will be announced a May 2022 and the winner will be able to start the course starting from September 2022.

The institution of this recognition aims to be a way not only to remember, but also to make Giorgia Martone’s creative spirit continue to live, passing on to new young talents the knowledge and the arts of which she was a ‘passionate researcher.
