Hong Kong Stars Return Home Amid Pandemic Challenges

In recent years, there has been a noticeable trend among Hong Kong artists who had previously relocated to the mainland for work, with many now choosing to return to their homeland. One such example is Hong Kong star Chen Haomin, who recently moved his family back to Hong Kong after years of being based in mainland China.

According to reports from Hong Kong media outlets, Chen Haomin had initially moved to the mainland in 2008 to work on the Hong Kong drama “The Legend of God”. While he frequently traveled between China and Hong Kong, the outbreak of the pandemic two years ago prompted him to move his wife Jiang Lisa and their four children to Shanghai to facilitate his work.

During their time in Shanghai, Jiang Lisa shared her challenges with the exorbitant prices of daily necessities on social media platforms. In one instance, she posted a bill showing that a few basic groceries cost an astonishing total of 1,500 yuan, leaving her feeling shocked and cheated.

With their children frequently changing schools and facing the difficulties of lockdowns in Shanghai, Chen Haomin decided to move his family back to Hong Kong to provide a better environment for their learning and work opportunities. Similarly, other Hong Kong artists like Wang Zulan and Cai Shaofen have also chosen to return to Hong Kong with their families due to work and personal reasons.

As the pandemic continues to impact daily life and work arrangements for many, the return of these Hong Kong stars to their homeland reflects the challenges and uncertainties faced by artists in the entertainment industry. Despite the difficulties, they remain determined to continue their careers and pursue new opportunities in Hong Kong.
