Shen Yun Performing Arts Lead DancerLian Xu(Michelle Lian) is a natural dancer. At a young age, she thought dancing could be fun, so she started learning and experimenting with different styles of dance. She recalled that Chinese classical dance has been with her for a long time. When she lost interest in other dance forms, she returned to Chinese classical dance.

Back when Lian Xu was just a Shen Yun audience member, her only reaction was to marvel at how beautiful these dances were. Now, she knows these artists and sees their performances from a different perspective as a person, professional and friend.
“Sometimes, it’s actually more moving because you know they’ve put in so much effort, in every way,” she said. After all the hard work, how pure and righteous they are on stage is very touching. You know how difficult it is to achieve this.”
Lian Xu added that the companions of Shen Yun Performing Arts are outstanding artists and mentors, not only in dance but also in life, because they have a comprehensive understanding of their craft.
For example, Lian Xu explained that what she strives to bring to the audience is “pure, bright and positive” performances.

She said: “I acted in the story segment of “Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai”.
