Especially in the current season in which the new units will be released: Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro, Dodge Challenger, Toyota Camry and the Torino. They will all compete together with the traditional cars of the category born in 1937.

In this context, this Tuesday, the Roberto Mouras racetrack in La Plata will be the scene of the rehearsals to be carried out by Juan Bautista de Benedictis (37 years old).

And the Ford Mustang that Ulises Armellini’s DTA team prepared for him, at the San Nicolás facilities, in Córdoba.

The Ford Mustang March 1 began construction in July of last year and was completed this year. Originally blue in color, it will debut its green chromatic decoration, which was imposed on the division by his father “Johnny” de Benedictis and which will have on its sides, the number 157, which identifies the street in the city of Necochea, where they met the members of the fans who followed their father in the Turismo Carretera.

This Tuesday’s test by De Benedictis with the Mustang March 1 aims to put the unit on the track, test its behavior and see how to begin the development of the vehicle and resolve regulatory issues with the category itself, which will coexist with traditional models for a time. The car will be powered by a driver prepared by Marcelo “Machete” Esteban.

For De Benedictis, who debuted in the TC on February 11, 2007, it will be his 18th season in the division, in which he has competed in 224 races, with five victories, 12 heats, 14 podiums and two pole positions.

This will not be the only test since the closed period imposed by the Road Tourism Corridors Association (ACTC) has expired. And confirmation is expected so that on Sunday the 18th of this month the new models will be presented on the track again, which will debut a week later in El Calafate, Santa Cruz.
