Radical legislators ask Apross to provide test strips to diabetic patients

Legislators from the Construyendo Córdoba bloc presented a draft declaration this Tuesday to ask the provincial Executive to “urgently” resolve the problems in the provision of test strip supplies.

“It seems incredible to us that they have increased the amounts to be paid to affiliates and now they are delaying in delivering this basic input,” said legislator Dante Rossi.

Affiliates of the Apross provincial social work have delays in obtaining test strips, an input that allows them to control glucose and the progression of diabetes. The situation was exposed last Monday in La Voz.

Apross sources explained that the delay is due to a restructuring in delivery logistics and new negotiations with the industry that provides the input.

Legislators’ response

The project presented by Rossi and Sebastián Peralta states that Apross increased the contributions of affiliates “but the service does not meet an essential need that in no way can be interrupted.”

“The 24-year management of the ruling party has been characterized – and we have said it many times – by privileging cement and public works over the basic needs of the people of Córdoba. It seems that this administration that took office last December 10 is going down the same path,” the letter added.

The strips allow the disease to be controlled (La Voz).

The statement added that “a person who needs test strips cannot wait. Nor can he, in this very serious economic situation that all of Argentina faces, have 50 thousand pesos in his pocket to purchase them from his own pocket. We demand empathy, and that the priority be people.”
