The 8th “Bordone” Prize for university theses on Asti

The Astesi Studies Society has announced the 8th edition of “Bordone Prize”. The award is held annually and was established in memory of Professor Renato Bordone (1948-2011), former full professor of Medieval History at the University of Turin and founding member of the Society) for university degree thesis, old system degree, research doctorate, graduate school diploma, new 1st and 2nd system degree thesis 2nd level, relating to the history of Asti and its territory in all its aspects, discussed in the period between 1 March 2011 and 28 February 2022.

«With the establishment of this award – he remembers Pippo Saccopresident of the company – we wanted to continue the action of the “Provincia Cultura Award”, interrupted in 2010, at least as regards the history of our territory, so that studies at university level are encouraged and that they are accessible to all the new contributions emerging from the degree theses “.

The prize consists of one thousand euros; in addition, an additional prize of 500 euros may be awarded for a thesis deemed particularly significant. In the event that the jury deems two or more theses equally worthy, the amount of the prize will be divided among the winners. The commission can then assign any further prizes or mentions, evaluating the papers on the basis of the specific characteristics of the different academic degree achieved.

All theses presented will be deposited at the Astense Library, available to scholars. The forms for participation in the eighth Bordone Prize can be downloaded from the website of the Società di Studi Astesi, at www.studiastesi.it.
