Two women, mother and daughter, were killed in the evening in Cisterna di Latina. The victims were 46 and 19 years old. Christian Sodano, a 27-year-old financier from Formia, was arrested by the police for the double crime. He had had a relationship with 22-year-old Desirèe Amato, daughter and sister of the two victims. According to the first reconstruction, the man arrived at the ex’s house around 5pm on Tuesday, in the San Valentino district. The two argued, perhaps following the request to get back together, rejected by the girl, and the soldier pulled out his gun and fired. The ones who fell under her blows were her mother, Nicoletta Zomparelli, and the girl’s sister, Renée, who intervened to defend her. While Desirée managed to escape, locking herself in the bathroom to save herself.

After the double murder, Sodano, on duty in Ostia, fled in his car to take refuge in an apartment on the outskirts of Latina, where he was tracked down by the police a few hours later to be taken to the police station in Latina.
