Transfers have begun. Management assurances: “Situation under control”
At the San Martino hospital, work is being done to free the Covid area of the Medicine department from patients currently present, through their transfer to dedicated departments, with the aim of keeping at least 5 or 6 beds free, available to any new patients coming from the emergency room and awaiting relocation to dedicated departments.
This was announced by the Assl of Oristano in a note with which he reassured that the management is constantly monitoring the evolution of the situation, in the Emergency Department and in the San Martino Medical Center. Departments in which the health care activity has continued and continues in an intense manner, and all patients, both positive and negative for Covid, have been taken care of and regularly assisted by health personnel.
The management of the Assl still informs that yesterday, Tuesday 15 February, two doctors operated in the emergency room respectively in the area dedicated to non-Covid patients and two others in the one reserved for Covid patients, patients who were initially 7 and subsequently reduced to 2 thanks to transfers to dedicated departments arranged throughout the day. During the night there were three doctors on duty, in such a number, therefore, to allow the ordinary continuation of the activities.
The management of the Assl confirms that in the Medicine department, divided into two distinct areas, one of which is reserved for Covid patients, the nurses tested positive for the Sars Cov-2 virus have been replaced by colleagues from other departments, while they would not have been critical issues were recorded among the medical staff.
