Apple’s App Store is strictly reviewing applications, and they have begun to warn some developers who have not updated their apps for a long time. If these apps have not been updated within 30 days, they may be deleted.
Apple said they have been evaluating apps in the App Store, and if they don’t follow the review guidelines, or if the app doesn’t provide the functionality consumers expect, it may be removed from the store. Protopop Games developer Robert Kabwe published a notice issued by Apple. He was notified that the app has not been updated for a period of time and will be removed within 30 days, users who have downloaded the app will not be affected; the developer needs to propose a new version for review within 30 days before new users can Download the app from the App Store.
Robert pointed out that the named app is a free-to-play game called Motivoto, which has not been updated for two years, but he believes that many games developed in AD 2000 are still popular today, while his own games still work normally, and Apple’s move is not welcome. He will upgrade the Unity (development tools) version of the game, then rebuild the execution version and tests to meet App Store requirements.
I feel sick. Apple just sent me an email saying they’re removing my free game Motivoto because its more than 2 years old.
It’s part of their App improvement system.
This is not cool. Console games from 2000 are still available for sale.
